Ruurd & Mieke, on the verge of riding off from Rowardennan Youth hostel at Loch Lomond. This picture was taken by Cynthia Carter, one half of a youth hostel warden-couple we’d learned to know and love over the years. For years they used to manage the YH at Loch Arden, but that establishment had to close, as it was considered too unprofitable (and way too profitable if sold).
