Staggering lichen on a rock on the way to Spidean Mialach. Maybe Rhizocarpon geographicum and Ophioparma ventosa, or Haematomma ventosum – we're no experts… Ach, the name haematomma would be quite apt, as it means something like ‘wee blood eye'. About the 2000 ft line these are quite common, as on Meall nan Eun and Buidhe Bheinn in the Loch Hourn area.
