Lecanora lichen on Beinn a' Chapuil up close, with prominent apothecia. Apothecia, the spore-forming organs, are those orangish wee bowls. Here you can also see how such a lichen, which usually starts on bare rock, simply encapsulates the plant obstacles it encounters. Peat moss can still be recognized on the left and at the bottom edge.
