Aquatic larvae of Caddis flies, camouflaged by their self-built armour of bits and pieces, on the soupy bottom of Lochan Coire Chaolais Bhig. Caddis flies are an interesting order; their ancestors had wing-like breathing organs they used for sailing over a water surface (some still do) and so played a role in the evolution of insect wings.
