Josh and Ruurd by Ruurd’s motorbike, engrossed again in the adventures of number. Late afternoon, July 14 1997. A few days before our departure, a snapshot taken by Elaine – a temporary neighbour also camping on Aileen’s field. If we remember well, Ruurd is now showing how our decimal system, based on just ten root-digits, leads to simple multiplication tables.
